Sustainable solutions for denim showcased at Kingpins Amsterdam

We will be introducing LYCRA® EcoMade fiber, which demonstrates our long-term commitment to product sustainability, one of the pillars of our Planet Agenda platform. This new fiber is our first branded elastane/spandex product that is made with pre-consumer recycled materials.

Good for the planet, good for business

LYCRA® EcoMade fiber offers the same lasting comfort, fit and freedom of movement as the original LYCRA® fiber, but is made with pre-consumer waste collected at our manufacturing sites and blended with virgin polymer at specific concentrations. This reduces waste and puts it back into production. The LYCRA Company is also planning to convert the vast majority of our COOLMAX® and THERMOLITE® fiber products to post-consumer recycled versions under the EcoMade banner by 2021.

Meeting consumer needs

A recent study* showed that two out of three respondents thought sustainability is one of the top three issues impacting our world today, and over 50% said they wanted to improve their footprint in the area of textile and apparel waste. EcoMade solutions will help you meet the consumer’s need for more sustainable apparel. They are available under the LYCRA®, COOLMAX® and THERMOLITE® brand names.
