The LYCRA Company, a global leader in developing innovative and sustainable fiber and technology solutions for the apparel and personal care industries, is exhibiting its latest innovations for denim and casual wear at BLUEZONE, the International Denim Show in Munich, Germany, which is taking place August 30-31. Fabric samples and garments made with LYCRA® ADAPTIV fiber, LYCRA® DUAL COMFORT technology, and other industry-leading denim fibers and sustainable solutions will be on display in hall 7, st12.
Consumers are looking for denim that not only looks good but feels good and adapts to their shape. LYCRA® ADAPTIV fiber is made from a revolutionary patent-pending polymer with a unique chemistry that adapts proactively to meet the wearer’s needs. At rest, the polymer adapts its holding force to provide the right fit, shape, and control. When in motion, the polymer adapts its elastic modulus to provide improved comfort and a second-skin effect that allows the garment to stay in place. As a result, jeans made with LYCRA® ADAPTIV fiber are easy to put on and take off and offer a wider fit window that promotes size inclusivity.
“The apparel industry is seeking sustainable solutions and LYCRA® ADAPTIV fiber can help consumers keep garments longer, even if their weight and size fluctuates”, said Silvia Toledo, Senior Strategic Account Manager, The LYCRA Company. “Extending the lifespan of clothing is more sustainable because it reduces the need for raw materials to make new clothes, and can help reduce carbon, waste, and water footprints considerably”.
LYCRA® DUAL COMFORT technology is a sustainable innovation that combines comfortable stretch and cooling comfort with long-lasting shape retention. These functional performance benefits come from new LYCRA® T400® A EcoMade fiber, the fabric’s sole stretch fiber. This fiber is made from recycled and renewable content and helps reduce the environmental impact of clothes compared to virgin fibers.
Fabrics made with LYCRA® DUAL COMFORT technology are more resilient than comparable fabrics made from 100% cotton, which helps apparel last longer. In addition, garments made with LYCRA® DUAL COMFORT technology qualify for LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ branding.
In The LYCRA Company booth, visitors will also find denim solutions from the LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ brand's family of stretch fibers including LYCRA® Anti-Slip fiber, LYCRA® dualFX® technology, and LYCRA® T400® fiber. These fibers create long-lasting, durable garments that enable designers to develop heavy wash downs and distressed denim looks without fear.
For garment makers seeking sustainable offerings that reduce waste, denim made from recycled materials will also be on display. LYCRA® EcoMade fiber contains 20 percent pre-consumer recycled content, and COOLMAX® and THERMOLITE® EcoMade technologies are made from 100% textile waste or recycled PET.
