Bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fiber

This highly anticipated fiber coming soon in 2025 will be the world's first large-scale production of renewable spandex in the US. 

Bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fiber is made with 70 percent renewable content, to help reduce the carbon footprint of LYCRA® fiber by up to 44 percent*. Garments and fabrics made with this fiber deliver equivalent performance to those made with original LYCRA® fiber, and no re-engineering of fabrics, processes, or garment patterns is required.

Join us for an expert talk on the future of circularity in stretch fiber

Join David Godshall, PhD, Senior R&D Scientist at The LYCRA Company, for an insightful discussion on the future of circularity in stretch fiber during the Functional Fabric Fair.

In this session, Dr. Godshall will explore how The LYCRA Company is addressing the challenge of spandex as a contaminant in textile recycling and leading the way in developing new technologies to recycle LYCRA® fibers from end-of-life stretch fabrics. Learn how we are working with our partners to reclaim pre- and post-consumer waste containing LYCRA® brand elastane to transform it into recycled spandex.
